Remora
Remora
The Remora, also known as the Suckerfish, is an interesting creature that lives throughout tropical oceans. They are named suckerfish because they spend most of their time attached to other marine life, particularly sharks, turtles and manta rays. Some remora even travel within the mouth of large rays and sunfish.
The Remora is a brown fish, ranging in length from one to three meters, their first dorsal fin is the animal’s suction organ, and this is how they attach themselves to other creatures. One of the best places to see the remora is at Wattaru Kandu dive site in the Maldives.
