Miyaru Faru, Maldives
Do not be surprised if sharks feature prominently here, because sharks are just “miyaru” in Dhivehi
Location: Medhu-Uthuru Province, North Male Atoll, Maldives
Type of Diving: Reef
Experience: Advanced
Maximum Depth: 30 meters
Average Visibility: 18 meters
Currents: Light
Access: Boat
Marine Life: Sharks, Rays, Barracudas, Moray Eels, Napoleon Wrasses
Description: The wall here is quite unremarkable. There are interesting species to spot such as lionfish, moray eels and porcupine fish, but the real action is out in the blue. At around 30 meters, there is an overhang that can shield you from the strength of the passing current. And with an incoming current, the visibility can be excellent and the parade of pelagics and local residents are very impressive. You might see a number of grey reef sharks as well as barracudas, kingfish and tunas.
