Cocoa Thila, another of the Maldives prime dive sites, is another pinnacle site (Thila means pinnacle in Dhiveli). Cocoa Thila is home to some very pretty coral formations, and owing to the large slope and the depth difference, there is a good variety of fish, ranging from grey reef sharks off the northern side to eagle rays, trevallies and oriental sweetlips. The currents here can be strong, so the site is recommended for intermediate and advanced divers, but it’s thanks to the currents that the marine life at Cocoa Thila is so diverse and constantly changing.
